After a career in photography and film for fashion brands, Yuro Moniz decided to return to her essence in 2019. In her studio in Rotterdam, Yuro creates ceramics from stoneware clay in a purely traditional way. By learning the craft from teachers in South Korea, Japan and Morocco, Yuro incorporates her teachings into intuitively handmade vases, purposely going against modern technologies to stay true to human craft.

It’s more than just a film. This particular story deeply resonated with the founders, as “Iron Mike” embodies both the spirit of Drôle de Monsieur and the values of Not from Paris Madame. Of course, Mike Tyson isn’t from Paris, but neither is he really from New York: born in Brownsville, having grown up in NYC’s darkest neighborhoods, he made his own way with sound and fury, building a narrative that has nothing to dowith the usual Big Apple success stories.

Virginia isn’t known for its music scene, despite being the birthplace of a huge number of iconic artists. For Masego, a self-taught musician, this makes a better story: at 8 years old, he was blown away by the talent of a church drummer in his hometown of Newport News, an encounter that sparked his passion for music.

Drôle de Monsieur meets Luis Oliveira, the manager of Azulejos de Azeitão, a tile making atelier in Portugal. “Every day is another day of passion.”
